What is standing in your way?
What is holding you back, or standing in your way?
What keeps you from moving forward and taking action in your weight loss, or whatever goal you have that thus far has been a dream but not a reality?
If you have something you’ve been wanting to work on, or have perhaps started to work on without making significant headway, it may be that you have some fear about it, some resistance.
What does this look like?
Think of it this way:
If you have one foot on the gas pedal, but the other foot on the brake, you aren’t going anywhere.
And it isn’t so great for the engine or the brakes, either.
What types of fears hold people back?
Sometimes there is a fear of actually getting the thing you want. Maybe even though part of you really wants it, there is still something a little scary about finding your soulmate, losing the weight, or having that success in your business, or whatever your goal is.
Or even if there is nothing about the end goal that seems scary, you have some hidden, unconscious anxiety about what you may have to do to make your dream come true.
Or some anxiety about what you might have to give up in order to make it happen.
For example, your unconscious mind may be worried that you might have to give up your favorite foods in order to lose weight,
Or that if you find your dream partner you might have to give up one of your hobbies, such as traveling a lot,
Or that if you have great success in your business you will have less time to spend with your family.
Get the idea?
These things that hold us back are usually mostly hidden beneath the surface, like icebergs.
We think we want something.
We actually DO want it.
But there is a part of us that is scared.
And this causes us to sabotage ourselves.
And because it is nearly always unconscious and hidden, we can’t see it.
Here’s the thing. If you can figure out how to take that foot off the brake, you can go a lot faster toward your goal.
Sometimes recognizing this and seeing how you get in your own way is all you need to do to get unstuck.
But if you’ve been trying to accomplish something for 90 days (or longer), and you haven’t made significant headway, you are like most people and it will take a little more than that.
And then there is the issue of whether you want to use brute force to try to push your way past the things that are holding you back and overcome them, or whether you want to actually HEAL them and make it easier, with less friction.
For most people, it takes some help from someone else who can help you see your blind spots and help you get past them.
Someone who has been there and has cracked the code and has a roadmap, a system to help you get there.
Only you know the answer to the question of whether you can do it using the do-it-yourself/trial and error/ brute force method, or whether you want to do it that way -- or find an easier way.
But it’s something to think about.
What is holding you back?
And are you ready to let that go?
